Scott Ritter: Us vs Iran: What War Would Really Look Like -Military Power, Oil Shock and Global Fallout

 Mnar Adley

The U.S. is on the brink of attacking Iran over phony nuclear weapons claims. Repeating tired Iraq War propaganda, the Trump administration is fearmongering about Iran’s weapons of mass destruction capabilities, attempting to convince the public that if they don’t act now, it will be too late.

What would such a war look like? Joining the show today to speak with host Mnar Adley is Scott Ritter. Scott is a former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer and a United Nations Special Commission weapons inspector who oversaw the destruction of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction in the 1990s. He later became a whistleblower and a vocal critic of the Iraq War.

Today, he discussed what the global fallout of a war on Iran would really look like.

It should be remembered, of course, that there is already a nation in West Asia with a sizable nuclear stockpile: Israel. The U.S. is well aware of this; former Secretary of State Colin Powell noted in a leaked email that the Israelis have “200 nukes all targeted on Tehran.” According to the book “The Samson Option” by journalist Seymour Hersh, the United States aided Israel to cover up its massive nuclear arsenal. It has also collaborated in Israeli attempts to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists. Only last year, Israel carried out a huge airstrike on Tehran, killing five scientists in one fell swoop.

Israel continues to update its nuclear capabilities. Only last month, it detonated a nuclear bomb at Dimona in the Negev Desert, causing a magnitude 4.2 earthquake that was felt across the region. Today, its missiles have the range to hit virtually every country in the world, including the United States. Israel maintains a policy called The Samson Option, whereby, if threatened, it would launch its arsenal across the world to destroy its enemies, and likely trigger a nuclear winter that would wipe out organized human life across the world.

The United States is building up its forces in the region, sending ships and thousands of troops to the Middle East. Earlier this year, a U.S.-backed color revolution aimed at toppling the government in Tehran failed. Clearly, President Trump is weighing up his options to escalate the attack.

War with Iran has been the goal of both neoconservative and Zionist factions in Washington for decades. With an increasingly belligerent and erratic Trump in the White House, it could be that the warmongers finally achieve their dream.
