Betrayal in Caracas ? Treason ?

There was no resistance, no major shots or rockets fired to repel US MH-60M Black Hawks and MH-47G Chinooks that went in to Caracas in the middle of the night to kidnap Venezuela's elected President, Nicolas Maduro which did kill more than 100 people including  32 Cuban soldiers and security personnel. The US plan under Operation Absolute Resolve was based on those who decided to become traitors to their own country to appease a hungry empire including the possibility that Maduro's Vice-President, Delcy Rodriquez as being a direct collaborator with Washington according to various reports.  The Guardian, a UK-based mainstream media outlet claimed that Rodriquez was in secret talks before the operation took place with the Trump Regime and the Monarchy of the Persian Gulf state of Qatar:

Before the US military snatched Venezuela's president, Nicolás Maduro, earlier this month, Delcy Rodríguez and her powerful brother pledged to cooperate with the Trump administration once the strongman was gone, four sources involved at high levels with the discussions told the Guardian.
Rodríguez, who was sworn in on 5 January as acting president to replace Maduro, and her brother Jorge, the head of the national assembly, secretly assured US and Qatari officials through intermediaries ahead of time that they would welcome Maduro's departure, according to the sources.
The communications between US officials from  Delcy Rodríguez, who was then Maduro's vice-president, began in the fall and continued after Trump and Maduro spoke in a crucial phone call in late November, the Guardian has learned, in which Trump insisted that Maduro leave Venezuela. Maduro rejected the demand

What was a striking claim is that Rodriquez was ready to move on from the Chavista government, "By December, one American who was involved told the Guardian that Delcy Rodríguez told the US government she was ready: "Delcy was communicating 'Maduro needs to go" and that ""She said, 'I'll work with whatever is the aftermath," another person familiar with the messages said."

Rodriquez and her brother, Jorge where allegedly in secret talks with Washington, "Key Trump aides continued official talks with Delcy and Jorge Rodríguez quite often, to coordinate, for example, the biweekly flights of Venezuelans deported from the US, according to two sources familiar with the talks. There was a barrage of issues that had to be solved: where the deportation flights would land, the status of Venezuelans imprisoned in El Salvador and political prisoners that could be released."  The report also emphasized that Rodriquez was a close friend to the Qatari Monarchy, "Meanwhile, Delcy Rodríguez retained very close personal ties with Qatar, where members of the ruling family considered her a friend, according to sources familiar with their relationship. Qatar, a key ally of the US, donated a $400m luxury jet for Trump's use in an unprecedented gift from a foreign country to a US president. It used the good will it had in Trump's White House to open more doors for Rodríguez in secret negotiations, two of the sources said."

Larry Johnson, a credible former CIA analyst confirmed who and what was involved in the operation to kidnap Maduro, "I know who brought this together, an old friend of mine, how did they do it ? Remember when their was a $50 million reward out on the head of Maduro ? So informants connected with DEA, one of whom was the chauffeur for Maduro, two others who were in his security detail, they were collaborating with the US government and they arranged this entire operation, it was done to get the reward money. That's where this originated, and Trump, shame on him, has refused to pay the reward. So he got all these guys who cooperated and now they are getting stiffed."

One major problem in Venezuela is the fact that there are some in the government who would betray the Bolivarian Revolution for money. Corruption is a major problem throughout Latin America. The same betrayal led to a  failed coup attempt on April 11th, 2002 of former President, Hugo Chavez by high-ranking military officials who were concerned about Venezuela's relationship with Cuba and the Colombia's guerrilla army, Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia also known as FARC. Obviously, the US had its own interests in oil and other natural resources. Chavez was brought back to power by popular support of the people and loyalists within the military 48 hours lately.

The George W. Bush Regime was involved in the coup from the start as it endorsed a new government that would be led by a businessman by the name of Pedro Carmona. The  Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) author, Mark Weisbrot pointed out that "Last April the Bush Administration sent a powerful message not only to Venezuelans but to all of our Southern neighbors: if we don't like the presidents you elect, we will use our muscle to get rid of them. By any means necessary. That is what was understood when the Administration endorsed the attempted military coup on April 11 against the elected president of Venezuela. (The White House later justified its response by saying it thought that President Hugo Chavez had "resigned;" but nobody south of the Rio Grande was fooled)."

Betrayal of fellow citizens for an imperial foreign power who seeks to control the natural resources and internal politics of their country in order to continue its colonial exploitation is shameful. Hopefully, the Venezuelan people can mobilize once again to free their president, Nicolas Maduro who is being held in New York City jail and arrest the real traitors of the Bolivarian Revolution and throw them in prison for life.

The one who deserves to go to prison is Donald Trump and his fascist regime and charge them with crimes against humanity that includes the mass murder of civilians throughout the world including in the Middle East, Latin America and Africa and for the continued genocide of the Palestinians and they can add other charges that include financial fraud and of course, child sexual abuse.

The Venezuelans who allegedly betrayed their country thought that they would receive the $50 million reward for the information they gave to Washington which led to the kidnapping of Maduro would be worth it, but in the end, they learned the hard way.

The lesson these traitors learned is that no one should ever trust the US government, because in the end, they will betray you like they did to others including world leaders such as Iraq's Saddam Hussein who went to war against Iran for the US and Israel, but he was eventually hung and Panama's Manuel Noriega who was a CIA asset that could no longer be controlled, so Washington decided to get rid of him.

If proven true, those Venezuelans who betrayed Maduro and their country were left to hang dry while holding an empty bag that was supposed to be that reward money Washington had promised them.
