Among many other articles, this article in Mother Jones illustrates how the American left-wing in its mendacity to get someone invariably misses the point.
The article begins reasonably. It acknowledges that Texas and New York City have paid out hundreds of millions of dollars to more than 1000 wrongfully convicted people. I myself for many years have documented the story of wrongful conviction. Wrongful conviction in the United States is a more likely result than justice. Instead of continuing with the article as an important article about wrongful conviction and its extraordinary prevalence, Mother Jones turns the article into an attack on President Trump. President Trump is suing the Biden Department of Justice for $230 million as restitution for the wrongful FBI raid on Trump's Lago mansion in Florida and for Biden prosecutor Jack Smith's investigations of Trump for allegedly stealing classified documents and sharing them with others and for Smith's false assertion that Trump attempted insurrection to overturn the 2020 election. Mother Jones says in fact that Trump is using his authority as President of the United States to steal $230 million from hard-pressed American taxpayers.
It is completely clear that the only reason for the FBI's greatly publicized raid on Trump's home and for Jack Smith's pursuit of indictments of Trump was to prevent Trump from running in 2024 as a presidential candidate. Not even the American left is unaware of this fact. As far as the American left is concerned, Trump and his supporters can be accused of every crime on the books, regardless of any evidence or of any crime having taken place.
Whether or not Donald Trump needs $230 million in restitution for Biden administration attacks on his integrity and character, prosecutorial abuse in America is very much out of hand. Trump's demand for restitution can help to end the abuse. Thus, Trump's lawsuit is not about money for Trump. It is about attracting attention to, and ending the misuse of, American law for political reasons. The Democrat's policy of weaponizing law is destroying the legitimacy of law. Once the legitimacy of law is destroyed by the Democrats, social chaos will be the result.
The audacity of the Democrat party demonstrated by the Democrats' theft of the 2020 presidential election and subsequent attempts to frame President Trump for offenses that never happened should give pause to the American electorate. Do the American people want a Democrat government that weaponizes law in order to destroy political opposition ? That is what voting Democrat will bring them.
