Procès Trump : l'ancien président déclaré coupable de 34 chefs d'accusation

I've long criticized our current US justice system - on all levels - as becoming much more about political justice than blind justice. The bizarre trial and conviction of former President Donald Trump last week on 34 felonies only reinforces my concerns.

The New York District Attorney, Soros-backed Alvin Bragg, has been notorious for downgrading felony charges against others to misdemeanor charges.

The day that the former president was convicted of 34 felonies was the anniversary of the execution of St. Joan of Arc. She had been convicted by the judicial system of her time for an alleged series of crimes even though the reason she was on trial was about politics. Her victories were her real offenses against the system. She paid the price for challenging the powers that be of her time.

Un texte fort bien documenté présente tous les aspects de l'extraordinaire décision prise par le tribunal de Manhattan contre l'ancien et peut-être (sans doute) futur président des Etats-Unis. Jamais un tel procès n'a eu lieu, dans une telle atmosphère d'opposition partisane, où tout le corps législatif censé juger impartialement a agi d'une façon aussi partiale.

L'auteur, Valentin Bogdanov, chef du bureau de New York de la chaîne russe VGTRK, évite les aspects franchement polémique comme certaines décisions du juge, son comportement personnel, le caractère douteux du jury sélectionné, etc., pour s'en tenir aux conditions politiques elles-mêmes et aux effets sur l'élection présidentielle du procès.
